The Illithid Empire is the oldest standing nation in the galaxy. It was the main rival of the Elven ascension to power until the United Elven Front were able to beat back the Illithids in a war around 90,000 years ago. They now control a small quadrant of the galaxy, and it is known to be very dangerous to enter into Illithid Space. [1]
Laws and Culture[]
Very little is known about Illithid social structure and hierarchy. They are a psionic race and are easily able to scout out infiltrators into their society using their psychic powers.
Illithid technology is not compatible with any other tech in the galaxy.
The most unusual thing known about Illithids is that they are able to control a mysterious black metal called Umbrium. No other race has been able to utilize the resource. [2]
Carter's Research[]
Carter was very interested in finding information about the Illithids. He learned that the Illithid Empire is the oldest standing nation in the galaxy, predating even the Eternal Empire. As the Eternal Empire was on a rise to power, then known as the Elven United Front, the Illithid Empire was its main rival, and the two empires were in competition to own the most galaxy for a long time. Eventually the rivalry turned into a war and the Elven United Front is responsible for beating back a huge amount of Illithid territory about 90,000 years ago. 20,000 years after that, the Eternal Empire was founded with the current God Emperor Solastaren. These Elves are not like Old World Elves; they are immortal, taller, stronger, better at magic, smarter, and bleed green blood. The Illithid Empire has shrunk to about a quarter of the size it once was. Now the Illithids are mostly known for rogue attacks on bordering nations for supplies, but they mostly keep to themselves. Venturing into Illithid space is extremely dangerous, most people do not come back from that. Their technology is not compatible with any other technology; they are most famous for their ability to create and use a black metal called Umbrium that no one else can use.
There are a few "islands" in the quadrant of Illithid Space.[3]
